About Atkinson Bespoke Solutions

Alex Atkinson has almost 20 years' experience and an extensive portfolio of bespoke furniture and building works

Having graduated as a sculptor from Byam Shaw School of Art in 1994, Alex worked with a furniture designer and maker, honing his skills on numerous and varied projects in London, producing fine modern bespoke furniture.

His CV includes working with gallery owner Dan Flowers (http://www.flowersgallery.com) as well as working with esteemed artists such as Nicola Hicks and Patrick Hughes. Alex has designed for galleries in Europe and Asia and knows that attention to detail and precision is an absolutely must. He draws on this experience to this day, bringing this experience to his clients.

In 1998, he joined forces with Julian Emens, a co-graduate from Byam Shaw, predominantly designing interiors and making furniture for private clients in and around London (http://www.julianemens.com), Many of their initial projects linked to the very specific requirements of artists within the London area.

Since arriving in Cambridgeshire almost 3 years ago Alex have been working on a range of long term project, collaborating with Oliver Davies of Manor Oak, Barley, Hertfordshire.

Alex is merging traditional carpentry and furniture making skills with a contemporary vision thereby creating a tailor made, unique design. He draws on his experience around composition and colour when designing, reaching something truely beautiful.
